The “Glück auf Cup” (Good Luck Cup) in Essen is one of West Germany’s prestige summer tournaments  and features teams and players from Europe and even North America. The tournament is hosted by the Ruhrpott Pirates, a lacrosse Club that participates in the western leagues of Germany with a men’s and women’s team. This year 10 men teams and 8 women teams competed under great conditions at the 4th edition of the tournament.

On the men’s side Cologne faced Aachen in the final with Cologne taking home the win 3:1. On the women’s side the final between Münster and Cologne ended 4:3 in advance for Münster. After 48 games with over 250 players the two day tournament ended and everyone is looking forward for next year’s edition. Esspecially the close distance to neighbor countries Belgium and Netherlands makes this tournament to an intercultural experiance among lacrosse friends. Well done and Good Luck for next year Pirates.
