Professional Box Lacrosse European Style – The Dominik Pesek Story

Did you ever dream of the big stage, playing Pro Lacrosse in the US or Canada, in the MLL, LXM Pro or indoor lacrosse in the NLL? For one player from the Czech Republic this dream may come true. The LAS network reported earlier about Dominik Pesek making the big trip over to Canada to play junior A box lacrosse for the Victoria Shamrocks. This alone is already a great move from the 20 year old. Now, about 9 months later, Dominik survived his first season finishing with 59 points in 20 games and a great shooting percentage of 25% in his junior A league.

Here some Highlights from Dominik

And now he is on the doorstep to let this dream come true. He is getting the rare chance to become one of the few players from outside North America to take part in the NLL draft.

In an interview with InLax Prospects he talked about the next level, and the challenges of playing in the NLL:

The biggest leap I think will be playing with adults, they have more experience and are stronger and tougher.

He is also giving further expectations about the development of box lacrosse in the Czech republic and Europe:

I hope that with the Czech indoor national team we will close the gap soon that’s between us and USA and hopefully get a bronze medal from World games.

We totally agree with your statement and wish you all the best over in Canada. If The Lacrosse Network streams the 2014 NLL season live and free on YouTube we may even be able to watch a Czech player taking over the NLL. All the best Dominik from Box Lacrosse Europe.
